Halfway Harmony past events

We are the “less formal” group from the Choir and raise funds towards SHELTERBOX – the Cornwall based organisation that provides emergency shelter and vital supplies to communities around the world overwhelmed by disaster and humanitarian crisis.

We sing at Country Shows, Private & Public Parties, Pubs, Clubs, (Weddings with an informal hfwytouch),  Gig & Ship Regattas and Fish Festivals.   We sing a mixture of Folk songs, Pop songs and Sea Shanties.

Mon 1st January 2018: Cawsand Beach New Year’s Day Dip 1200

THE choir’s folk, sea shanty and 60s rock ensemble, has played a significant role in the Derriford Oncology initiative, and their final act of the appeal will be the Lions’ New Year’s Day dip. They will enter the wintry waters of Cawsand Bay dressed as Curly’s Allsorts, in tribute to David “Curly” Milsom who recently died of cancer after having been one of our January 2017 dippers – and a serial Dipper over the years.

David, Halfway Harmony treasurer, was an outstanding second tenor with a particular gift for comedic songs. He helped raise sponsorship of £800 at the last dip, and thousands for numerous causes over the years – a five-figure sum for Shelterbox alone. It’s hoped the Harmony’s six Hardy Dippers can top £1000 this year. Our Dippers, who include over-70s, will join some 150 Dippers at 12.00 on January 1 2018. Please come along and sponsor our dippers.
